Today was my first day back at the sewing machine. I finished up Liberty's Mod Kid skirt (what I was sewing when "the incident" occurred). I just need to put in the elastic and I'm done. My finger is still pretty sore. I went to the surgeon and he's waiting until next week to decide whether or not to surgically remove the other two pieces. He said that most likely they will just GROW OUT OF MY SKIN! Ewwwww.....gross!
Now what you're all really here for: the winners! There was such a big turnout that I decided to double the winners. I mistakenly bought 6 fat quarters instead of 7, so I will have "grand prize" winners and "runner up" prizes:
Grand Prize Winners:
Twin Fibers
aaahh! I'd love to use some for a quilt. Your little houses are so cute, reminds me of vintage children's books.
woo wee, what a great giveaway! That house quilt looks great. You're so nice and willing to share! I think I would use them in a hexagon quilt. You want to know something interesting about me....hmmmm....I took a cruse alone when I turned 30. I was having a bit of a panic about turning 30 so I called the travel agent and gave them my credit card number and told them to take me anywhere in the world leaving on a particular day and returning one week later. She called me back and told me I was going on a cruise. I had an absolute ball and even went to a nude beach for the first time in my life. Thank God I was alone....I found an empty area....where there was absolutely no one around....stripped off my suite..laid down....honestly less than 30 seconds...I put my suite back on and walked away so proud of myself. I'm such a risk taker..ROFL....truth!!!
Smiles,
Kelly

Does it still hurt? At least your able to get back to stitching...I'll have to watch for results of surgeon's final verdict.
A huge congratulations to all the winners, way to go everyone and thanks so much for the wonderful fun giveaway too!!! Now, about that finger, how is it feeling? Like Quilt Hollow, I anxious to hear what the surgeon says. Hoping all goes very very well with it. BE CAREFUL!!!
I'm happy to hear you are back in the saddle again...but anxious to hear all is well 100% and Dr confirms!
Thanks for hosting a delightful giveaway. Congratulations to all the winners. I too enjoyed Kelly's insight on her cruise to celebrate her 30th!

Awww, congrats to the winners....even though I am jealous of them!
Wow! I can't believe I won!!! Horray! :) Thanks again for the wonderful giveaway, it will all be put to good use! ~Jessica
Hope you are not in much pain, those kind of wounds are real nasty. My daughter did it once.
I wondered what you think of your machine. I have an 830 (old) Bernina that I love but I am starting to quilt and have looked at this machine. I am going to order the walking foot for mine in hopes that this will work for me without getting a new machine.
"The incident" - hehehe!
Congratulations to all the winners! I am super envious of you all!
Wow I actually won something? You just made my year!! (ok so I may be exaggerating since there are only like 2 weeks left!)
That is so totally gross about having the needle just grow out of your finger. EEEWW! hmm, I wonder if that's enough metal to set off an airport metal detector, probably not but I can just see you trying to explain to the airport security guards!
What does runner up winner mean? LOL....It should be runner down :)
Smiles,
Kelly
Jennifer you poor thing....is this finger better yet? I've never done anything quite so bad...but have had a couple of close shaves..just goes to prove we are a dedicated bunch that are so engrossed in out craft. Hope the pain is manageable..
Rainbow smiles.. Gloria
