Denyse Schmidt Giveaway!

I've stashed all my recent fabric purchases under my cutting table so as not to alarm my hubby. But he shouldn't be alarmed anyway, because they were all purchased with gift certificates. Lucky me! So I'm spreading the wealth!

Wilbur doesn't want me to tell you this...

But I'm giving away TWO fat quarter bundles of Hope Valley! To enter, leave a comment between now and next Wednesday, December 16th. Post a link on your blog and you'll have THREE chances to win! In your comment, tell me something interesting: either about yourself, or maybe what you would like to use the fat quarters for.

I've been working on a new project. Here's a sneak peek:This is just the rough layout. I'm still not completely sold on the background. And I have to add a bunch of little details still.

Happy stitching, peeps!

You want to know something interesting about me....hmmmm....I took a cruse alone when I turned 30. I was having a bit of a panic about turning 30 so I called the travel agent and gave them my credit card number and told them to take me anywhere in the world leaving on a particular day and returning one week later. She called me back and told me I was going on a cruise. I had an absolute ball and even went to a nude beach for the first time in my life. Thank God I was alone....I found an empty area....where there was absolutely no one around....stripped off my suite..laid down....honestly less than 30 seconds...I put my suite back on and walked away so proud of myself. I'm such a risk taker..ROFL....truth!!!

Smiles,
Kelly

Something interesting about me: I live in an RV and have wicker trunk to keep my fabrics in. I live far away from any fabric stores so I have to shop online most of the time. I miss going to the store and feeling and seeing all the colors of fabric there.

If I won this I would make a diaper bag for my new grandchild due in May.

What an awesome giveaway! Such cute colors! Your houses are just adorable too.

Since I'm not sure what I'd do with the fabric at the moment, should I win. (I usually have a project scream at me to make it and then I hunt the fabrics.)

I'll try something interesting about me, though there's not much. Let's see. I'm 33 and a glutton for punishment. I work full-time. I go to school full-time. Oh and did I mention that I'm a mom of 3? I've got an 8yr old and 2yr old twins. Well, really a mom of 5 if you count my 38yr old guy and his 16yr old daughter. Ha! Chaos is the norm in my life.

I wish I had a blog to spread the news of this wonderful giveaway! Everyone deserves a little Denyse Schmidt in their lives. I have 2 plans for Hope Valley. One is to sew a sleeveless blouse...the vintage look and muted colors seem ideal for this. Two is to sew a quilt for my little cousin...her favourite colors are pink and orange and I am trying to steer her away from all the commercial consumerism and get her appreciating handmade and unique a little more. It is so awesome that you are willing to share. Thanks!

Something interesting about myself... Some folks can roll their tongue into an "o", I can fold my tongue into a "W" shape. So I can spell out"Wooo" using my tongue. That sounded so creepy but its 1:25 in the morning so hopefully I made you laugh and didn't weird you out.

Great fabrics!

Lissa Jane said...

Well what would I make?? well you have to fondle them a LOT first... fabric fondling is a past time.. I think I'd make some lovely nine patch/snowball blocks.. a small wallhanging or table topper perhaps.. I've not seen that range here in australia...

An interesting thing about me.. hmmmmmm I am pretty boring: I collect Pandora charms, its not a collection as such, more of a fetish.. I am onto my fourth bracelet.. and the fetish will have to stop soon otherwise my arms will be dragging along the ground from the weight of the bracelets!

take care

Stitched With Prayer said...

My gosh, something interesting about myself, well, I don't know that it is interesting but I started quilting a little over 18 months ago when the health issues I suffer from (Scleroderma and Neuropathy) put an end to my hand stitching and also crocheting doilies. My husband brought my machine it that had been stored for 12 years while we raised grandchildren and he told me he hoped I could use it for something fun. I no longer had a need nor desire to make clothing so my wonderful sister in law introduced me to quilting. In that I found an amazing therapy I had never imagined. I not only relieves many of the symptoms of my problems, it relieves stress. The rest of the world just kind of melts away when I sit down to my sewing machine. It's true, when God closes a door, he opens a window. Quilting is my window. As for what I would make with the fabric. Well, that new project your working on is absolutely wonderful. Though I'm certain there is no patter available for it but something along that line...yup. Fun stuff. Thanks for a chance to enjoy some of your treasures. Good luck to everyone in the giveaway!!!

I hope that you do not suffer too much with your finger. It looks and sounds like a pretty painful accident to me.

We are surviving the cold here in Alberta. We were the coldest place in North America with a temp of -43 C + wind chill. I enjoyed being at home cooking and decorating.
Warmest regards from Western Canada,

I think she may need one now. Don't worry if I don't win I will still make her own quilt. But if you could say a little prayer for her that would be a win for me. Thank You! Happy Holidays!
