Aaaah...Nap Time

This is what nap time looks like for mommy: Blogging, snacks, new Japanese quilt books and TV. Yes, TV in my bedroom. We just got a TV this past weekend, and its the first time I've ever had one in my bedroom. Todd and I are both pretty anti-TV in the bedroom, but I decided I needed one to keep me company while he's out of town. And I'm just loving it!

Guess what I got in the mail last week?! My quilt from Doll Quilt Swap 6!!
Isn't it GORGEOUS??!! I absolutely LOVE it! I almost died when I opened the box! It came with some other goodies, but I'll have to post those pics later, cause my camera battery died!! THe quilt is made from Darla fabric, which I absolutely adore! I cannot wait to put it up on my studio wall! I feel so special that super-talented Tina made such a beautiful quilt! Thank you again, Tina! You're the best!

Aren't you lucky! A nap, a new tv, and an awesome quilt! The quilt is going to look good in your studio, if you could get it away from your sweet liberty!

Enjoy!

I used to be ant-tv in the bedroom too. But I caved. I love it. Love your Japanese book stash too (I have one of the ones you have - love it!).

The DQS6 quilt is just adorable. As are you!

Wow! Look at us!

I'm a AF wife too! And I grew up in Washington. Everett area.

I am Krista. I told you a little about the virtual quilting bees.

The two bees that I'm in, we pay our own shipping. It costs about a dollar for each package.

Each month someone is assigned that month. They ship all the fabric for their blocks to everyone else. They have to be in the mail by the 5th. We get the blocks, follow whatever directions she gives. (One month someone wanted different pinwheels. Another month we had exact instructions for houses, even which way she wanted the seams...they they are really different each month. I have August and I'm going to send everyone some black for the background and one other color. So it will kinda add up like a Amish quilt. My fave!!)
So then you finish the quilt block, and send it back. That way the postage is all kinda spread out. I think you would have a huge headache if you tried to do it another way. It also evens out with the people that are international. That way if they want to play, they know that they are going to have to pay a little more than someone that is in the US.
You send about a fat quarter total in your fabric packages. It depends on the block size...usually 12.5.
If you start one, I would LOVE to play! i will even help set up. I thought about starting one BUT we are PCS'ing out of Alaska in August so maybe I'll start one after we get settled. I'll totally keep you in mind. They are so addicting.
